Norwescon

Hi everyone!

As some folks know, I'm a Gaming Pro for NorWesCon. What this means is that I can wrangle space and time for a NorWesCon game if we want. We can even do a special event if we would like. :-)

Feel Free to ring me so we can work out a few details. Also, there's a Gaming Pro meeting this Sunday at Alfy's Pizza in Lynnwood where we are going to talk about what we want to do this year. It's from 2-4, and it's kind of a meet and greet.

How many people from here go to Norwestcon?

Would it be worth it do an event there? It might be good as a recruitment tool.

My ability to go depends entirely on my rapidly snowballing financial commitments. I'd like to go, though. When is it again?

as of now I intend to go.

There is a possibility that I would go for a day. I don't do gaming events on Easter though.

I'd totally be down for us throwing an event there.

I'll try to attend that meeting...and if we decide to do a game there I will see if we can pull in some pretty cool looking props for it.

I'm glad to see that folks are interested.

Last year, much to my own dismay, the Cam came to us and tried to do a "All Cam, All the Time" point of view for LARPing. While i enjoy their enthusiasm, I'm more aboput the shameless promotion of ALL larp games, boffer games included. What I'm trying to do is get the different communities together and do three pannels-

1) How to start a LARP

2) Running a good LARP game.

3) Keeping a good LARP going.

More ideas are always welcome, but what I think i would really like to see is a well done Demo Game that will allow people to see what we do, get them involved with our community, and have them attend our game. Maybe get a guest book going for our event so we can keep in contact with the people who play and show up.

I'm pretty sure that I can make space happen (Hell, what's the fun of being a Pro if I cant make people respect my AUTHORITAH!!!), but I need something to sell to the Programming manager other than "Uh... hey... they want to run a game or something..."
and to be very open- I want to be able to tell the Cam when they come to me waaaaaaaaay late that another group has allready been approved for a premuim spot to highlight their show, but they can have any of these fine parting gifts ;-P

Seriously, A good demo game with Decorations, literature, and entertainment value provided for any and all who show up so when the event is over they ask us "Hey, when is the next game and how do I get there from ...?"

Last- NorWes is March 20-24th, the Bastards. I was supposed to go to Vegas that weekend, but whatever. I guess I'll go in April.
